GIRLS BASKETBALL REGISTRATION

IS NOW OPEN!

Registration is open for girls in 2nd – 6th grade from now until September 15th.

2024-2025 SEASON INFO

2 leagues: Dayton Metro and Kingdom

Dayton Metro is a more competitive league, while Kingdom is a more relaxed, faith-based league.

If a grade has enough girls to form 2 teams, we will offer both a Dayton Metro team and a Kingdom team for that grade. Based on the registration numbers, I would communicate that option to the affected families ahead of time if it was a possibility. At that time, you can choose to “opt out” of placement onto the Dayton Metro Team if you prefer your player to automatically play on the Kingdom team.

If a grade only has enough girls for 1 team, that team will play in the Dayton Metro league.

Rosters would be determined after Evaluation Day (planning for the weekend of 9/20 or 9/27).

Families will be notified by email the week following evaluations regarding which team their player was placed on. Families will have until 10/9/24 to request a full refund should they choose not to participate.

Registration closes SEPTEMBER 15. Families who miss the registration deadline will be placed on a waiting list and accommodated as space becomes available

FAQ:

  1. What is covered in the fee to play?    Your player’s fee covers their game jersey and shooter shirt (both to keep), practice facility rental fees, game gym rental fees, league/ref fees, team insurance, equipment, admin fees (accounting, background checks, etc.); There are no paid staff. Basketball fees are generally higher than other sports due to facility rental fees. This is the majority of our program’s budget. The fee for a Dayton Metro team is higher because they have 2 practices per week, compared to the Kingdom team, which practices once a week.
  2. Why is the fee increased this year?   In order to allow all teams 2 practices a week, and due to rising uniform/practice gym/game gym rental fees, we had to increase the fee in order to adequately cover these costs.
  3. My daughter is interested in playing but financially this will be difficult to achieve. Do you offer any assistance in this?   Please do not let cost be a barrier in registering your daughter to play. We do offer scholarships which may cover a portion of their season fee. Please be aware that the Dayton Metro and Kingdom leagues charge a gate fee for fan entrance into all games (“fan” includes parents/family/friends). This is set by the respective leagues, not Dayton Christian. Please reach out to me directly with any questions regarding scholarship eligibility.
  4. I’m interested in coaching. How do I get started?    When you register your player, there is a box to indicate your desire to coach. Please check the box and you will be contacted as the season nears. All coaches will undergo a background check.
  5. I’m interested or know of someone interested in becoming a team sponsor for the season. How can I get started?    First of all, thank you so much! Our sponsorships will allow us to offer scholarships to families so they can participate in our youth girls basketball program. Sponsorships also enhance our program and create memorable experiences for our young athletes and families. From upgraded uniforms to fun events like Youth Night and Post-Season parties, it is through our sponsor’s tangible gifts that our program has been able to build the intangibles—the unity, excitement, and confidence within our teams. Please email me at [email protected] for more information.

We’re looking forward to a great season! Let’s go CRU!
